The KC is a zero-pressure dual lip radial oil seal with no garter spring. The rubber covered OD improves the OD sealing ability. The internal face of the steel case is not fully rubber covered. The additional dust lip protects the primary sealing lip against dust and other contamination. To maximize performance over the lifetime of the seal an adequate lubricant should be applied between the two sealing lips.
