Valve Stem Compression Packing

Valve stem packing plays a crucial role in valve performance. Reducing or eliminating process leakage is integral not only to process performance, but also safety and compliance. Garlock Compression Packing is rigorously tested to ensure effective sealing in valves, pumps, agitators, and other rotary equipment. It is offered in a variety of material combinations to best suit a wide range of application requirements. By combining high-performance proprietary coatings with technical yarns developed and produced in-house, Garlock’s packing products exceed today’s sealing performance requirements.

Garlock Style 127-AFP is designed for sealing valves used in steam. An outer jacket of wire-reinforced carbon yarn is braided over a plastic core for sealing and pressure resistance. The unique outer jacket construction encapsulates the Ni-Cr alloy wire reinforcement inside the carbon yarn. There is no wire in contact with the stem, making stem wear almost nonexistent. This allows increased service life of both packing and equipment.

Garlock Style 1303-FEP is a high performance, field proven valve stem packing delivering low emissions compliance, spool stock flexibility and convenience for on-the-spot re-packing or maintenance. Chemical resistant, 1303-FEP meets API-622 and ISO-15848-1 standard requirements and also offers fire safety. It’s also engineered to deliver compliance to the most stringent VOC and VHAP emission regulations.
