GFS Back Up Rings
Back-Up Rings are installed alongside O-rings to improve their performance. O-rings often fail due to extrusion into hardware clearance gaps at high pressures. Back-Up rings are installed in between the extrusion gap and the O-ring to prevent failure and improve performance. The products below are split Back-Up Rings offered in Virgin PTFE. Additional materials are available such as filled PTFE blends, PEEK, Nylon and various elastomer materials.

Virgin PTFE
PTFE is an incredibly versatile material with a wide variety of applications. It has extreme chemical resistance, a massive temperature range, is completely unaffected by UV, excellent electrical insulation properties. Flexible, low friction, inert. Material data sheet can be viewed here.
