Parker’s E0803 is a 70-Durometer Black EPDM General Purpose O-ring material. E0803 has a temperature range of -70°F to +250°F. This material is a terpolymer of ethylene and propylene with a diene third monomer used for cross linking. This is particularly useful when sealing phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids and in brake systems that use fluids with a glycol base. EPDM compounds are frequently used with foods, water and steam applications and offer the best resistance to ozone and weathering. EPDM’s are not used with petroleum oils or fuels because significant swelling would result.
