Parkers E0540-80 is an 80-durometer black EPDM O-ring material. E0540-80 is a general purpose EPDM compound. EPDM compounds are frequently used with foods, water and steam applications and offer the best resistance to ozone and weathering. EPDM’s are not used with petroleum oils or fuels because significant swelling would result. EPR copolymer ethylene propylene and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) terpolymer are particularly useful when sealing phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids and in brake systems that use fluids having a glycol base.
