The GFS Piston Buffer Cap Seal is a single-acting O-Ring energized PTFE piston seal used in dynamic sealing applications. The seal is installed in closed grooves, including grooves to ISO 7425. The seal assembly offers low friction and eliminates the potential for stick-slip, which makes it well suited for high speed applications. Additionally, the Buffer Cap Seal has high wear resistance, low break out force, and extrusion resistance.  Originally developed as a rod seal, this sealing profile has performed very well as a single acting piston seal in demanding applications, or can be paired with additional piston seals. This sealing assembly is supplied standard with an energizing FKM O-ring, other elastomers can be supplied upon request.
