The GFS Symmetrical U-Cup O-ring Energized Deep is a single-acting, O-ring energized, polyurethane seal that can be used as either a primary Rod or Piston seal. The deep profile provides extra stability needed to resist rolling in the groove. At zero or low pressure the O-ring aids to increase the sealing force to prevent any leakage. The seal utilizes a scraper lip, which aids in wiping both fluid film and contamination away from the seal. This seal should not be installed back to back as a pressure trap could occur between the seals. The U-Cup is designed to have an interference fit within the seal housing and can be used in conjunction with a back-up ring for heavy duty applications. The standard material offering is a 95A durometer polyurethane; additional materials can be supplied upon request.
