Fastener Seals consist of an inner rubber component used in conjunction with an outer metal washer that supports the sealing function of a fastener such as a screw or bolt. The rubber and metal combination create an ideal fit to eliminate any clearance gaps between the housing components and protects against potential leaks in many static applications.

Fastener seals are intended to take the place of an o-ring in certain assemblies. By using a fastener seal, there is no need to have an o-ring groove machined into the component that the fastener will pass through.

GFS offers 3 different Fastener Seal Profiles for purchase below.  Standard sizes and materials are kept in stock for same day shipment.

DC Fastener Seal

DC Fastener Seals have an inner rubber seal molded into an outer metal washer. They are designed to seal beneath the head and along the base of the bolt to provide long reliable service. The ridged design of this seal provides easy and accurate seal placement to create an ideal fit. DC Fastener Seals are available to accommodate standard fastener sizes; making them efficient and simple to use. The DC Fastener Seal is designed with a pre-calculated interference factor built into the teardrop shaped elastomeric seal. The cross section free height of the rubber is greater than the metal retainer, providing the proper compression without squeezing the seal beyond its elastic limit. As the fastener is installed into the mating hardware, the DC Fastener seal is compressed down the the retainer thickness.

  • Performance
    • Pressure (Max) 10,800 psi
    • Temperature Range (F) -30 to 225
  • Features
    • No machined O-ring grooves are required in the mating flange
    • Precisely controlled optimum percent squeeze eliminates over compression
  • Equivalent Profiles
    • Parker Stat-O-Seal

Bonded Fastener Seal

Similar to a standard washer, a Bonded Seal combines the rigidity of an outer metal ring along with a flexibility of an inside rubber seal. The metal washer provides much needed support while keeping the inner rubber seal from being over compressed and eliminating gaps to create a form-fitting seal. The flexing action of the lips under pressure provides a positive and leakproof seal against a wide range of fluids. The face to face sealing performance eliminates groove cutting or special machining and reduced bolting torque.

  • Performance
    • Pressure (Max) 20,000 psi
    • Temperature Range (F) -30 to 225
  • Features
    • Extremely simple pressure gasket
    • Efficient and reliable means of face sealing at high and low pressures
  • Equivalent Profiles
    • Dowty Series 400 Bonded Seal

DCCL Thread Seal

DCCL Thread Seals differ slightly from other Fastener Seals in appearance and application. The inner rubber seal has a triangular shape design for sealing directly against the threads of the fastener. DCCL Thread Seals will prevent fluid from leaking out past the bolt through the threaded seal and can easily be assembled and disassembled as needed from contact surfaces without the use of special tools. DCCL Thread Seals are readily available in standard fastener sizes and are able to be reused with proper removal..

  • Performance
    • Pressure (Max) 5,000 psi
    • Temperature Range (F) -30 to 225
  • Features
    • Self-centering and non-directional
    • Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • Equivalent Profiles
    • Parker ThredSeal
