Introducing Gallagher’s 40,000 sq. ft. Manufacturing Facility

With the purchase of Johnson Packings in 2014, Gallagher Fluid Seals gained a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in East Longmeadow, MA.

The Gallagher manufacturing facility, with its 22 employees, is capable of fabricating many sealing products you’re probably already using in your production.

Non-Asbestos Gaskets

Gallagher Fluid Seals is a distributor for best-in-class gasket sheet manufacturers such as Garlock®, GORE®, and Thermoseal®.

We also stock many different styles and thicknesses of rubber including Viton®, EPDM, Neoprene, Silicone, Nitrile, and many more.  Our long-standing relationships with our manufacturers allow us to get any material we don’t have in stock quickly.

And don’t worry about tooling. We have 4000+ dies on-hand for standard flange sizes, and any non-standard gaskets can be cut on our ATOM Flashcutter utilizing CAD/CAM drawings.

Pump & Valve Packing Sets

Compression packing is still one of the most cost-effective methods of sealing a pump or valve.  Until the 1980s, packing was generally referred to as “greasy rope”, made of vegetable fibers, laminated wire, and metal.  Packing technology was accelerated by the passing of the Clean Air Act in 1990, which resulted in materials such as carbon/graphite, Kevlar®, Kynol®, and Teflon® gaining traction.

We stock hundreds of styles and cross-sections of packing materials in our warehouse from manufacturers such as Garlock®, GORE ®, John Crane, and SealRyt (formerly Marlo Packing).  This allows us to cut custom packing sets with configurations that fit your application and get them shipped to you the same day (depending on material availability).

Spliced & Vulcanized O-Rings

When standard O-rings cannot be used, there are only a few options.  The most cost-effective choice is to have a vulcanized o-ring made.

Fully cured o-ring cord stock is cut to length, the ends are then treated with an uncured rubber and adhesive mix, and then heated to cure the joint.

We do this in-house, with multiple o-ring cord stock materials (Neoprene, BUNA, Viton®) and cross-sections available.
