The GYLON® TUFF-RAIL® Family consists of two tank car manway gaskets, GYLON® 3545 & 3504 TUFF-RAIL®. The TUFF-RAIL® patent pending technology incorporates raised sealing features for a tighter seal in less than ideal bolting conditions, even after multiple cycles. Engineered to a single size, these gaskets fit the most common manways (AAR-1, UTC-1, TRN-1) simplifying gasket selection and inventory requirements. Constructed from Garlock's industry proven GYLON® material, TUFF-RAIL ® manway gaskets have been tested for reliability, reusability, and superior performance over other similar PTFE materials.

Garlock GYLON® 3545 TUFF-RAIL®

Manufactured from 100% pure PTFE and utilizing our proprietary GYLON® process, the 3545 TUFF-RAIL® gasket is specifically designed to help address those difficult installation and sealing requirements of manways. Formulated to compress and conform, the 3545 TUFF-RAIL® is easily installed with excellent load retention, maintaining a tight seal even during heavy vibration and thermal cycling. The patent pending technology incorporates raised ribs to insure the gasket performs under the limited bolt load and the narrow seating surface of the nozzle.

Garlock GYLON® 3504 TUFF-RAIL®

Extending the use of Garlock's patent pending molding technology, the 3504 TUFF-RAIL® gasket is the latest addition to their TUFF-RAIL® family of products. A blend of aluminosilicate and PTFE, the 3504 TUFF-RAIL® offers excellent compressibility and a wide range of chemical compatibility. Engineered with the same raised sealing areas, the 3504 TUFF-RAIL® has been proven to seal and reseal even in the most demanding manway installations.
