PROBLEM
Customer experienced a sealing issue on their RV-7 dryer in a chemical application; white specs, flakes, and fibers were found in the end product, causing unplanned equipment downtime.

SOLUTION

Through testing and evaluation with a site visit and engineering consult, it was discovered that packing would not be ideal for this specific dryer application. Instead, the solution was to stack Garlock  MILL-RIGHT® ES seals on both ends of the RV-7 dryer.

RESULTS
The new HNBR split seal, with high abrasion resistance and low wear, worked as intended. It increased the equipment efficiency and uptime while simultaneously eliminating the flaking.
