DuPont™ Kalrez® 7375, is an innovative FFKM oil-seal product exhibiting broad chemical and water/steam resistance properties required at high temperatures in chemical process industry applications. Kalrez 7375 parts present excellent compression set resistance, exceptional physical property retention, and improved mechanical strength properties.
Other Kalrez compounds have done the job over the years when faced with many of these sealing challenges, but how does it compare to this new compound?
DuPont™ Kalrez® W240 perfluoroelastomer parts are a black product for photovoltaic wet manufacturing processes requiring a wide range of chemical resistance. W240 provides an excellent combination of properties (resistance to acids/bases) and is the product of choice for wet processes as an upgrade from standard elastomers, i.e., FKM, NBR, EPDM, etc. A maximum service temperature of 230°C is suggested.
DuPont™ Kalrez® 8575 perfluoroelastomer parts are a white product for “select” etching, ashing/stripping and deposition process applications. It offers low weight loss in Oxygen and Fluorine-Based Plasmas, low outgassing and excellent elastic recovery properties. Kalrez® 8575 has excellent vacuum and long-term sealing performance, good mechanical properties and is well-suited for both static and dynamic sealing applications (e.g., gas inlets, chamber lid seals, slit valve door seals, etc.). A maximum continuous service temperature of 300°C (572°F) is suggested. Ultrapure Post-Cleaning and Packaging is standard for all parts made from Kalrez® 8575.
PERFORMANCE
DuPont™ Kalrez® 6190 perfluoroelastomer parts are a carbon black-filled product specifically designed for custom part and high volume applications. It has excellent thermal stability good mechanical strength properties and can be used in both static and dynamic sealing applications up to 300 °C (572 °F). In addition, Kalrez® 6190 is resistant to most chemical solvents but is not suggested for use in steam, strong acids or strong bases.

Kalrez® Spectrum™ 0040 perfluoroelastomer parts are specifically designed for low-temperature environments where significant chemical resistance is required. Proprietary polymer and cure technology promotes low-temperature sealing performance (-42°C) of Kalrez® Spectrum™ 0040 parts to temperatures typically unattainable for perfluoroelastomers parts.
Kalrez® Spectrum™ 0040 is an excellent choice in applications such as couplings for the chemical transportation industry, or for other applications where chemical resistance and elasticity are required in some of the coldest environmen
Perfluoroelastomers (FFKMs) Dupont Kalrez® are used as seals on wafer processing equipment due to their extraordinary resistance to chemicals, including reactive plasmas and extreme heat as high as 620°F (327°C). FFKM performance can vary depending upon the chemical composition. Specially formulated Kalrez products may be required to help reduce wafer contamination.
Recognized as the leading supplier of perfluoroelastomer parts for over 40 years, DuPont offers a variety of high performing products that are formulated to give the best possible seal performance in numerous aggressive environments. Excellent balance of finished properties is achieved through careful use of proprietary polymers, cure systems, fillers and additives, resulting in superior seals for a broad range of applications.
Kalrez® 4079 is among the most popular of all Kalrez compounds. Released in the 1980's, this compound has been a mainstay and go-to
DuPont has developed a unique seal design to improve seal life in dovetail grooves. This design benefits from the excellent chemical, thermal and plasma resistance of DuPont™ Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer parts with a unique cross-sectional trilobe seal that eliminates many of the problems associated with semi-dynamic seal applications using a dovetail groove. These problems include installation difficulties as well as short seal life and particle generation due to seal wear and degradation.
For over 40 years, DuPont™ has been relentless in pursuing improvement in the manufacture of perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) parts. Elastomeric parts typically consist of three components: a polymer chain (the backbone of the elastomer), a crosslinking system (which links the polymer chains together and is the key to elasticity and sealing performance), and a filler system (used to enhance mechanical properties). Based on extensive experience, DuPont™ adjusts these components to optimize seal performance.
