Mechanical Seals for Agitators

HSMR34 and SeccoMix R are seals for every situation. Sealing technologies need to live up to the highest demands, especially for agitators with side and bottom entry drives, where the product literally presses down on the sealing gap.

EagleBurgmann has developed two series of modual mechanical seals to meet these unique requirements. HSMR34 is a liquid-lubricated and Seccomix R, a dry-running agitator seal. Both can easily cope with any installation situation, whether it's a top, side, or even a bottom entry drive.

HSMR34 and SeccoMix R

HSMR34 and SeccoMix R are designed as pressurized double seals. The characteristic feature of both series is a solid counter-ring that extends into the product. This makes a decisive difference with several advantages, such as excellent thermal conductivity.

Most of all, centrifugal forces in rotation generate a current that pulls the product away from the counter-ring, and keep the sealing gap free. This prevents build up that can typically occur with sticky media and/or products with high solids content. Another important detail is the sealing of the mating ring to the shaft. An O-ring installed with a defined degree of pressure seals the area without leaving any dead space. This not only makes it easy to clean; it prevents the shaft sleeve from touching the product, so there is also more freedom in the choice of materials.

The standard sliding material use for the HSMR34 is a hard/hard pairing with SiC. For maximum production reliability, the seal rings can be equipped with DiamondFace technology. This makes the seals perfect for demanding conditions, such as when there is insufficient lubrication or for partial dry running or particle-free operation. The SeccoMix R is availble with SiC/SiC pairing and DiamondFace technology.

By nature of their design, even the standard versions of HSMR34 and SeccoMix R are suitable for hygiene applications. For media with particulary high cleanliness requirements, versions are availabe suitable for CIP and SIP.

HSMR34 and SeccoMix R from EagleBurgmann are true all-rounders. They can easily cope with agressive, sticky, or viscous media, as well as media with high solids content - and they are ideally suited for use in agitators, mixers, kneaders, dryers, and other specialized machines.
