BACKGROUND ON CUSTOMER
End user was buying a competitors Excluder V-Rings for use on their rolling mill chocks. The competition started making their Excluder V-rings overseas and changed the compound. Distribution requested an evaluation.
CHALLENGES FACED BY CUSTOMER
The competitor’s new compound was causing the Excluder V-rings to snap in half during service. The previous Excluder V-rings were in service for approximately one year but the seals with the new compound were only lasting approximately three months.

SOLUTION AND BENEFITS TO KLOZURE MODEL 145
The KLOZURE® Model 145 Excluder in Garlock's MILLRIGHT® N material are lasting two years on average. The end user is not seeing the snapping of the V-Ring while in use. The heavy duty lip cross section is providing extended wear life. The end user is cataloging cost savings due to fewer seals being purchased and less labor used for installation.
